Jay Leno is on the mend after the 60 foot fall he took in Pennsylvania earlier this week that left him with severe facial bruising and a broken wrist.

‘I’m feeling good,’ he said on the red carpet of the AMFAR gala in Las Vegas Friday night. ‘I’ve got a broken wrist, but I’m all right.’ 

He covered his large bruises quite well with makeup to host the event which was held at the Wynn Resort and Casino and honored Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin. 

Leno slipped and fell while trying to take a shortcut to a restaurant near the Hampton Inn he was staying at before a show he was doing in Greenhouse, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. 

The former host of The Tonight Show had a hankering for some chicken parmesan and was determined not to have to take the long way around to go and get it. 

‘To get to [the restaurant], I didn’t have a car, so you had to walk about a mile and a half around. I said, ‘Well, the hill doesn’t look that steep. It’s about 60-70 feet. Let me see if I can go down the hill,’ I fell down,’ he told Inside Edition earlier this week.

‘Boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, knocked me in the eye,’ Leno added of the incident.

Fans aren’t buying his story, however, with some claiming his injuries look more like he got beaten up.

Citing another injury where the comedian broke, among other things, both of his kneecaps last summer in what he said was a motorcycle accident.

Conspiracy theorists came up with the theory that Leno must owe a large gambling debt to the Mafia or to loan sharks and they’ve been taking out his lack of payment on him physically.

‘So Jay Leno got set on fire a few years ago, is staying at a Hampton Inn while being worth millions of dollars, with an eye patch, bruised up face, a broken wrist and a missing fingernail. And he wants us to believe he. . . Fell down a hill???’ one X user asked.

Another tweeted: ‘I have never believed a conspiracy more than Jay Leno owing mᴀssive gambling debt.’

The theory is amusing, and consistent with the cliched thoughts of how the Mafia enforces things.

But the fact is that Leno has a net worth of around $450 million from his long career as a comedian and late night television host.

After his tumble down the hill, Leno picked himself up, dusted himself off and headed to the restaurant across the parking lot, where he marched right into the eatery and ordered the chicken parmesan he had been seeking. 

After he chowed down on the chicken and garlic bread, he went to a nearby CVS to grab and eye patch and then headed to do his show at The Palace Theatre in Greenhouse.

Once he was back in California, Leno headed to In-n-Out in Burbank for a burger and fries with his bruises visible. 

He did not seek medical attention for his bruising or broken wrist until he got back to Los Angeles.
