REVEREND RICHARD COLES
I’m A Celebrity’s Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles took on the first eating trial of the series during Saturday night’s episode, aptly named Terrifying Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
After the Jungle Junkyard trio – made up of Maura, Richard and Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, 32 – were rumbled about their life of luxury, they revealed to the rest of the camp how they had sought the bed and food with good reason – to win meals for the ‘junk food buffet’ for everyone.
Ant and Dec explained they had currently won six out of a possible 12 places at the buffet, with six portions still up for grabs.
As Dean was told he could take a seat with his main campmates, the priest, 62, and the former Love Island star, 33, then learned that because they had failed to keep up their mission, they would be facing the ‘Terrifying Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ in order to win the final six portions of food for the junk food buffet.
A shocked Maura said to Richard: ‘Father, can we say a prayer please?’
Ant and Dec then told the duo they would be partaking in an eating trial, with 12 picnic themed dishes.
I’m A Celebrity’s Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles took on the first eating trial of the series during Saturday night’s episode, aptly named Terrifying Teddy Bear’s Picnic
As the pair failed to keep up their secret mission, they needed to take on the eating trial in order to win the final six portions of food for the junk food buffet
For every two dishes they successfully ate, they would win another portion of food for the junk food buffet.
Determined to win the six portions for camp, Maura and Richard got ready to eat their first dish brought out by a ranger bear.
Whilst the Teddy Bears picnic tune played, Maura learned she would be eating a ‘Porked Eye’ which was two pig’s eyeballs, whilst Richard tucked into a Crawl-Dorf Salad, where he had to eat five cockroaches and five crickets.
Crossing himself before he tucked in, Richard joked: ‘For what we’re about to receive…’
Both completed their first dish, and won another portion for the junk food buffet, they then tucked into a further five dishes each, including delights such as blended beach worms, goat’s testicle, pig’s snout, crocodile anus and blended fermented herring.
The whole camp were shocked with its stench, as Ant said: ‘If hell had a smell, it’s that. That’s the worst thing I’ve ever smelt on this show.’
Richard and Maura reigned victorious, successfully winning all 6 portions up for grabs at the junk food buffet and redeeming themselves from their Jungle Junkyard deception.
Also in the episode Maura put her hands over her mouth as Richard gagged over a concoction of blended fermented herring.

As he took on his first drink Dec requested that Richard ‘polish off that whole cup’, with Richard then quipping: ‘More tea Vicar, right?’
As Ant moaned that he ‘beat him’ to the joke, Richard then proceeded to down the repulsive beverage
Maura watched on in shock as Rev. Richard took on the dread drink which Ant later revealed on Im A Celeb Unpacked that when the lid came off ‘loads of flies surrounded it’
As he was presented with his first drink, Dec announced: ‘This is camo-vile tea, blended Surströmming’ – a fermented herring that is known for its very strong smell and taste.
Dec then requested that Richard ‘polish off that whole cup’, with Richard then quipping: ‘More tea Vicar, right?’
As Ant moaned that he ‘beat him’ to the joke, Richard proceeded to down the repulsive beverage.
Horrified by what she saw, Maura could only look in sympathy as she gasped ‘oh my God’ into her hands.
Meanwhile, their fellow campmates were also in the trial area and offered their support to the pair, with Danny Jones shouting to Richard: ‘Don’t stop!’
To which Dec quipped: ‘Easier said than done!’ as he fanned the air amid the putrid smell of the drink.
Reverend Richard meanwhile appeared to be struggling as he gagged and coughed while trying to finish off the horrendous drink.
However, the commentary from the spectators didn’t appear to help Richard with his plight, with Ant remarking: ‘I just caught a whiff of that, oh that’s disgusting!
‘You wouldn’t catch me drinking that!’
While Maura exclaimed: ‘Oh that’s really bad!’
The latest trial comes after Danny and Dean, 32, bagged eight stars for camp as they braved the High Street Of Horrors in the latest Bushtucker Trial on Friday’s episode – before one of them was faced with a huge twist.
Maura also had to take on her own horrific challenges including eating half a brain and some scorpions as well as downing blended beach worms

The radio presenter and the singer finally ended the streak of poor performances that saw Dean shout ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ not once but twice.
As voted for by the British public, the duo headed down to the Bushtucker Trial area to face the challenge, as Danny jokingly asked Dean: ‘Fancy going shopping?’
Horrified to learn they’d be joining them there, Maura and Rev Richard Coles also headed down to the Trial area for the day’s Bushtucker Trial, not knowing what lay in store.
First to arrive were Maura and Richard. They were greeted by Ant and Dec and asked how they were enjoying the Jungle Junkyard, Maura revealed: ‘We’ve had a lovely time… I’m loving it!’
While Richard joked: ‘I’m really consumed with guilt!’
Ant and Dec explained to the duo that as they successfully got a bed delivered to them from main camp yesterday, they won three portions of food for the junk food buffet.
They were also told the trial was their next opportunity to continue the charade, as they had to convince Danny and Dean that they had already taken part in The ᴅᴇᴀᴅly Department Store to try and win 2 stars for their dinner, but failed.
Maura and Richard both got stuck into the pretence, as they covered one another in feathers and molᴀsses and put on their best acting performance.
Dean and Danny stopped at the Grim Grocers first, where there were three stars on offer and they had three minutes to find them.
It comes after Danny and Dean, 32, bagged eight stars for camp as they braved the High Street Of Horrors in the latest Bushtucker Trial on Friday’s episode
Working together, he and Danny picked up a further four stars, meaning they won eight in total
Winning two stars for camp, they proceeded to the Electrifying Electrical store where they picked up a further two stars out of three, within the three minute time slot.
As Dean and Danny entered, Maura and Richard looked as downcast as the jungle weather, as they shared the news that they had won zero stars.
But that wasn’t all, when asked what they faced in there, Richard panicked and described there were ‘weird Australian birds’, while Ant and Dec tried to keep a straight face.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX.
