Wicked fans were furious after a major spoiler was dropped live on air just one day before the highly anticipated release of the musical adaptation.
On Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen casually revealed that his guest Kristen Chenoweth made a cameo in the movie—a surprise that many fans were completely unaware of.
Kristen, who originated the role of Glinda on Broadway, clearly wanted to keep the cameo a secret, visibly avoiding the topic and making the moment awkward.
The first part of the epic fantasy film is set to hit theaters on November 22, with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo taking on the lead roles of Glinda and Elphaba, respectively.
Now that the cat’s out of the bag, fans took to social media to express their frustration.
One fan tweeted, ‘#WWHL: not @andy spoiling @KChenoweth being in Wicked. She looked like she wanted that to remain a surprise.’

Another wrote, “Yeah… how oblivious is he? Let the opening weekend audience get the surprise first.”
A third chimed in, “Yeah, because I didn’t know she was in it and they’ve promoted the hell out of it.” Yet another critic roasted Cohen, posting, “He’s so stupid. I know she was pissed.”
