Billie Eilish has been announced as Apple Music’s Artist of the Year for a second time after first winning the gong in 2019.
The singer, 22, won the award due to her ‘extraordinary impact throughout 2024’ which saw her bag an Academy Award and two Grammys for her contribution to the Barbie soundtrack.
Billie penned the emotional song What Was I Made For Her for the award winning film by Greta Gerwig before releasing her third album Hit Me Hard and Soft.
It’s been a busy year for the star who also performed her hit Birds of a Feather at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
She also collaborated with Charli XCX for guess, the song of the summer from the star’s Brat album and is already touring around the US.
On top of all of that, the Angel Eyes singer has been nominated for seven Grammy awards including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year alongside the likes of Beyonce and Raye.

Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s senior director of content and editorial said: ‘From the moment we first heard Ocean Eyes nearly a decade ago, we’ve been fans and champions of Billie’s work.
‘It’s always special when a young artist can connect with so many people so quickly. But what’s been truly remarkable about watching her evolve over the course of this last year isn’t just that her voice and artistry have continued to resonate so widely.

‘It’s that she’s blossomed as bravely and honestly as she has — on her own terms, in her own way.’
The pop star said that Apple had always been supportive of her music and was honoured to receive the award Music.
Despite her stellar career to date Billie recently opened up about how she had ‘dark times’ while on tour.
The star confessed to Vogue: ‘I’ve had some really dark times on tour. For a long time I was kind of living like it was temporary. Like, yeah, I’m touring for now and it’s kind of unpleasant, and whatever. It’ll be over.
‘And the truth is, it’s the rest of my life,’ the What Was I Made For hitmaker added.
Billie also revealed to fans that she felt ‘lonely,’ admitting her connection with music had changed over time.

‘I didn’t realize that I could make touring enjoyable. I just was very lonely for many years, and I’m not interested in that anymore. I want to enjoy the show as well as my days,’ she said.
Lately, the Birds of a Feather singer has been enjoying playing music just for fun, rather than because of her work.
She added: ‘I’m a musician and you’d think I would’ve done that. But things blew up for me at an age when I would’ve been jamming with buddies. And because it was my career, I was not interested.
‘So for the first time ever, I’m jamming, and it’s amazing. It’s so nice to not have pressure of like, Is this going to be the next single? It’s like, No, we’re just here. And it’s just right in the moment.’
