Colton Underwood is happy to embrace the past, present and future with his baby boy Bishop.
“There’s no hiding. I definitely live my life differently in a way of understanding that my son is going to be watching me when he grows up,” Underwood, 32, exclusively shared with Us Weekly when partnering with the leading tech brand Nanit. “I try to make him proud in everything that I do. That’s sort of been my north star with the trajectory of my career right now — when all is said and done, I wanna make entertainment and I wanna make this place and this world a better place and more loving and understanding.”
Before becoming a dad, Underwood played defensive end at Illinois State and was drafted into the NFL.
Following his football career, Underwood went on a journey to find love on The Bachelor in 2019. He later became the first lead in Bachelor franchise history to come out as gay.

Until then, Underwood and his husband, Jordan C. Brown, are soaking up every moment with their son. With help from the Nanit Pro Baby Monitor, both parents can catch all of baby Bishop’s best moments on camera and they can see their baby from anywhere — including the shower.
“Yes, I’m sleeping, but my brain never shuts off,” Underwood admitted to Us about his first months of fatherhood before praising Nanit’s baby monitor. “No matter what’s going on, even if I’m watching a sports game on my phone, the Nanit is running in the background.”
Although Bishop is only one month old, Underwood has already thought about giving his son a sibling in the future.
“We definitely have been open to another one or two,” he shared. “We really just wanted to bond and have this moment with [him] individually and then continue to grow our family.”
