EXCLUSIVELance Bᴀss hoping for NSYNC reunion with Justin Timberlake AGAIN after ‘cathartic’ boy band documentary

Nearly 30 years after catapulting to fame as a member of one of the biggest boy bands of all time, Lance Bᴀss ‘hopes’ to reunite again with his NSYNC bandmates.

Speaking with DailyMail.com at the Vanderpump Dogs gala, Bᴀss, 45, was asked about possibly joining forces with the beloved music group yet again.

‘I mean, who knows? I hope so! Fingers crossed!’ he shared.

During their heyday, Bᴀss, along with bandmates Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick dominated the radio as members of the iconic group NSYNC.

While they ultimately disbanded in the early 2000s, their legacy has endured – not only have they reunited in recent years, but they have even been the focus of several documentaries.

Bᴀss makes an appearance in the newly-released documentary Larger Than Life: Reign of the Boybands, and he also spoke in the 2019 doc, The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story.

‘It’s so crazy, so many people are doing documentaries on it right now,’ Bᴀss said when asked about Larger Than Life.

He called his participation in The Boy Band Con, the doc about disgraced businessman and manager Lou Pearlman, ‘cathartic.’

‘I did one years ago called The Boy Band Con and it was cathartic to be able to do that,’ he explained.

‘Really kind of dissecting who he was and what we went through. So many people have asked me to sit down, I’m like, “Yes, I want to share my story,”‘ he said.

Bᴀss has yet to watch Larger Than Life but has heard great things about it so far.

‘I have not seen this one yet! I’ll be watching it along with everyone else, but I hear it’s an incredible doc,’ he shared.

In the meantime, Bᴀss has been busy promoting his new children’s book, Trick or Treat on Scary Street.

Bᴀss, who has three-year-old twins Alexander James and Violet Betty with husband Michael Turchin, said his children make him read the book ‘every single night.’

‘It’s their favorite book, and I’m like, “Okay I guess this is going to work.” It’s now after Halloween and they still make me read it every night,”‘ he said.

Bᴀss called promoting the book ‘so much fun.’

‘It was so much fun to promote because when you go and like do interviews they actually want to talk about the book and not about like Britney Spears!

‘So it was really fun to promote, and to be able to like read to kids all over the country, it was a beautiful thing,’ he said.

Larger Than Life hit Paramount+ earlier this month while The Boy Band Con, the film about Lou Pearlman, was released back in 2019.

Pearlman was the disgraced businessman who created and managed boybands such as Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and O-Town.

While the talent manager was busy distracting the mᴀsses with a stream of noughties hits, he was running one of the longest running Ponzi schemes in American history, convincing banks, and individuals to invest into his bogus companies.

Pearlman also made millions from young musicians lacking knowledge about the inner workings of the music industry, allowing him to pay ‘NSYNC just $35 (£27) per day while selling millions of records.

He was ultimately sentenced to 25 years in prison for conspiracy, money laundering, and false bankruptcy proceedings. He died behind bars at age 62 in 2016.

Bᴀss previously said the first red flag into the music mogul’s shady management was after he flew them to Los Angeles and handed them checks for just $10,000.

‘At the end of the dinner we had all these envelopes sitting in front of us and I knew my life was about to change…then I opened the check and it’s $10,000,’ he revealed in a 2019 ABC television interview.

‘I knew we had worked so hard, so I knew what that check should be, or what I was hoping it would be.

‘I mean in the best of worlds a million dollars would have been like – Oh my god. That’s what we deserved,’ Bᴀss added on his work with his bandmates.

‘Then, I went back to the H๏τel room and that’s when it all just hit me. I was so disappointed, and I ripped up the check. I did. I knew something was wrong,’ Bᴀss recalled.

‘I was in the biggest band in the world, but I can’t even afford my apartment,’ Bᴀss said in the 20/20 interview.

Things have certainly changed for Lance since then.

On Friday, the musician was among a slew of stars supporting Lisa Vanderpump’s dog rescue, Vanderpump Dogs, at The Maybourne H๏τel in Beverly Hills.

Lance served as host for the event which included performances by Trixie Mattel, Breanna Whitaker, and Sam de Rosa.

The event raises awareness and funds to support the organization’s rescue efforts, rescuing and rehabilitating pooches both in America and overseas.
