In The Last Showgirl, Anderson portrays a veteran showgirl who must sort her future when her show abruptly wraps after 30 years.

The movie is slated for a January 10, 2025 release and earlier this week a first-look trailer captivated fans and prompted Oscar buzz.

Per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, Contenders Film: Los Angeles is ‘an annual daylong awards-season kickoff event’ that hosts ‘stars and talent of films competing for the top honors during the upcoming awards season.’

This year’s affair featured over 20 movies with actors and directors gathering for panels at the Director’s Guild of America.

Among the panelists was Kevin Costner, 69, who discussed his film Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.

Lupita Nyong’o, Saoirse Ronan, Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton were also some of the famous faces at the gathering.
