Alec Baldwin had audiences howling with laughter during the curtain call on Saturday Night Live, but it wasn’t for delivering a punchline.

The 66-year-old Rust star suffered a wardrobe malfunction while taking the traditional bow alongside host Charli XCX and the rest of the cast.

As Baldwin clapped and waved to the crowd, he seemed blissfully unaware that his pants fly was wide open—a detail eagle-eyed fans didn’t miss.

Social media erupted with reactions, with many poking fun at the actor.

However, Baldwin did make an impression earlier in the episode, unveiling his new impersonation of Robert Kennedy Jr. 

The actor joined a star-studded cold open, sharing the stage with James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, Dana Carvey as Joe Biden, and Sarah Sherman as Matt Gaetz.

In the sketch, Baldwin took aim at Robert Kennedy Jr.’s controversial reputation while poking fun at his recent appointment as the ‘new Secretary of Health and Human Services.’

‘Americans need someone to teach them how to be healthy, someone like me, a 70-year-old man with movie star looks and a worm in his brain,’ Baldwin quipped, referencing Kennedy’s bizarre past claim about doctors finding a parasitic worm in his head.

While the impression sparked some laughs, many viewers criticized Baldwin’s appearance, calling it ill-timed considering his recent legal troubles stemming from the tragic shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the Rust set.

‘They actually brought that ᴅᴇᴀᴅbeat Alec Baldwin back?? SNL just needs to call it quits already,’ one viewer tweeted, while another added, ‘I don’t know who keeps wanting more Alec Baldwin on SNL, but it’s not me.’

Baldwin did make an impression earlier in the episode, unveiling his new impersonation of Robert Kennedy Jr.

Baldwin also mocked Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism, imitating his distinctive voice, which is affected by spasmodic dysphonia. 

The actor’s appearance on SNL comes only months after the dismissal of the manslaughter charge against him in connection with the 2021 on-set death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The incident occurred while Baldwin was rehearsing a scene for the film Rust and holding a prop gun that unexpectedly discharged, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

Prosecutors dropped the charge after it was revealed that critical evidence—potentially favorable to Baldwin’s defense—had not been provided.
