Davina McCall is being supported by her partner Michael Douglas as she undergoes heartbreaking brain surgery to remove a benign tumour.
The couple, who went public in the summer of 2019, started off as friends before turning their relationship into a love story.
On Friday, the TV presenter, 57, shared the news in an Instagram clip, that she has a ‘very rare’ colloid cyst that affects only three in a million people.
Davina explained that she received the diagnosis by chance after booking in for a ‘health scan’.
In a video, she said: ‘I’m posting this. It will be Friday morning, and I’m doing it because a few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company, and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare, three in a million.
‘And so I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neuro surgeons. I got lots of opinions, and I realised that I have to get it taken out.’
As Michael supports Davina through her health scare, here MailOnline takes a look at their relationship.

When did the couple first meet?
Davina and Michael first met when he styled her hair during her time presenting Big Brother, which she worked on from 2000 until 2010.
They turned their friendship into romance during the summer of 2019.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘The romance blossomed from a place of friendship and trust and the couple are just enjoying each other’s company and having a laugh.’
‘Davina especially likes Michael’s sense of humour and kind nature. It’s fairly early days but Davina’s mates think Michael is a good guy.
‘Davina feels ready to move on now after her marriage split and is really happy.’
Remaining coy on the situation, Davina told The Telegraph just one month before: ‘I have been out on dates – but can’t a woman be single and happy?…
‘I was in a relationship for 20 years and there is a lot more for me to think about than finding a date. Life is different. I have three children and a career…’

In January 2023 Davina confirmed that she and Michael had moved in together, and had began to make ‘new traditions.’
The Masked Singer judge revealed that her hairdresser beau moved into her home before Christmas, and they watched The King’s Speech together with Davina’s sister Rebecca.
Speaking on their podcast Making The Cut, Davina admitted : ‘I am quite enjoying as a new couple doing new things, because we are newly living together.
‘It’s quite nice making new traditions because we did that before Christmas, we sat down together and talked about it: ”Ok, blank space, what shall we make tradition from now on?”
The couple then explained how the first of their traditions as a co-habiting pair was watching The King’s Speech together on Christmas Day afternoon.
Davina admitted: ‘My granny and my dad were ardent royalists; my sister was an ardent royalist.
‘I have to admit, I never really watched the Queen’s Speech but I was really interested to watch the King’s speech this year because it was the first one.
‘I loved it because Rebecca stood up and did a salute because my dad would have done that and I loved her for that. I really liked watching it. Let’s make it a new, living together tradition.’

Though the pair are blissfully happy, they have no plans to walk down the aisle together.
In an interview, the former Big Brother star opened up on the future of their relationship, revealing that they don’t feel the need to make things official as they are both ‘happy’ as they are.
With the pair having both been married before, Davina explained that they didn’t need to ‘rock the boat’ by tying the knot, insisting that for now, marriage is ‘off the table’.
Speaking to The Sun, she responded ‘no’ both times when asked if she was engaged to Michael or planned to marry down the line.
Giving her reasons for her refusal, she went on: ‘That’s not even on the table, it’s just not. He’s been [married before] so we both just feel like we are happy, let’s not rock the boat. Let’s just keep things on the down-low.
‘We’re not interested. I knew Michael for so many years [before we got together] that there were no questions to ask like that. I know him. It was easy.’
Shutting down any further questions about her love life, Davina concluded by saying: ‘I love Michael. And I always feel like it’s too precious to just talk about in public. I just want to keep it for me.’
