Zendaya reveals the moment she and beau Tom Holland knew they had sizzling chemistry

Zendaya has revealed the moment she was first introduced to her boyfriend Tom Holland, spilling that they met before they started filming the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The actress has been loved-up with the star since 2021, five years after the Hollywood heavyweights starred alongside each other in the superhero movie.

Lifting the lid on when Tom first came into her life, Zendaya shared they met during a ‘chemistry read’.

Zendaya said: ‘That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read.’

While speaking to Vanity Fair for the 2025 Hollywood Issue, she said she felt ‘strangely comfortable’ working with him.

She divulged: ‘It’s like second nature, if anything. You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside.

‘I love working with him. He’s so talented, and so pᴀssionate about what he does.’

She added: ‘He always gives things one thousand per cent, even if he’s absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him. It feels pretty normal.’

This isn’t the first time Zendaya has shed insight into her relationship with Tom in recent months.

In April, the talented A-lister gushed about their relationship as she graced the cover of British Vogue’s May Issue.

Speaking about how they’ve grown together, she said: ‘We were both very young but my career was already kind of going and his changed overnight.

‘I definitely watched his life change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.’

Zendaya also revealed that she has also considered the prospect of starting a family in the public eye, admitting she doesn’t want her future children to ‘have to deal with her fame.’

She said: ‘It’s a matter of sustainability because I don’t necessarily want my kids to have to deal with this [fame]… and what does my future look like? Am I going to be a public-facing person forever?’
