‘I am overwhelmed by the emotions that have come along with watching this morning’s announcement of you being named the new co-host of the Today Show. I think seeing the news become official alongside your TV family has made it hit home even more what a true blessing this is.’
She went on: ‘The opportunity to watch the person you love see their dream come true is such a gift. I will never forget this day and the crowds’ excitement to share your good news.’
Lindsay stated that seeing Craig realize his dream ‘has made me so proud of the way you carry yourself as a father, husband, friend, son, brother, colleague, etc.’
The proud wife gushed about Craig’s work ethic and called him ‘the most talented person I know.’
‘The way you make other people feel is everything. I felt that the first time we met on the anchor set in Washington, DC. You genuinely cared. That has never changed,’ she added.
‘I’m proud because the man so many Americans “wake up with” in the mornings truly is the same person we see at home. Warm, caring, curious, smart, funny, snacking on all the food being prepared :)’
Towards the end of her caption she wrote: ‘I’m excited for America to get to “hang” with you more each morning and to see how your God given gifts can continue to help others.’
‘I love you, I love your Today Show family, I’m beyond grateful to be along on this ride and now I’m going to go ask the flight attendant if I can make an announcement 🙂 Congratulations on a dream realized and a job so well deserved.’

Craig thanked Lindsay on Thursday morning after it was announced that the anchor would be taking over from long-serving presenter Hoda, 60, after her last episode on January 10.
‘I’m just so thankful for her. It’s a lot of long days and short nights, and she’s been there for me from the beginning,’ he said of his wife.
The couple have been married since 2011 and share two children together, son Delano, 10, and daughter Sybil, eight.
Hoda had previously stated in September that she would be stepping down from her gig after nearly three decades at the network.
Craig said he was ‘beyond excited and grateful’ as he commented on his new appointment.

‘I’ve had a lot of conversations yesterday with a lot of people who mean a lot to me, and I want to obviously thank NBC and the folks here who have deemed me worthy,’ he said.
‘But I have to start by thanking the man upstairs. Thanking my lord above and his son Jesus, and I’ve enjoyed just a lifetime of blessings, and this is the latest in a long line of blessings.’
And it’s fair to say that viewers could not be more delighted that Craig will be taking over from Hoda, as they flooded social media with their congratulations.
Taking to X, one enthused: ‘A GREAT choice! Congratulations Craig! So happy for you and the Today Show fans!’
Another said: ‘Congratulations, Craig! Well deserved. I think you will do a great job, although, I still think you would have been a perfect pick for Jeopardy host.’
A third continued: ‘Congratulation to South Carolina’s own Craig Melvin! Such a huge accomplishment!’
