Marvin Humes has reflected on his ‘tough’ I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! experience ahead of the new series.
The JLS star, 39, was one of the contestants on last year’s edition of the ITV survival show and was the sixth celebrity to be eliminated.
Marvin had to spend five-weeks away from his wife Rochelle Humes and his three children, daughters Alaia, 11, and Valentina, seven, and son Blake, four.
Now, with the 2024 series launch episode just days away, Marvin has revealed who he will be voting for, while opening up on how the experience took a toll on his family.
Marvin exclusively told MailOnline: ‘I’m A Celeb was always the one I said I would do if asked. It was perfect because any other year, I wouldn’t have been able to do it because of radio and JLS commitments. Whereas last year I had six weeks off, which is perfect.
‘I mean, it took a big toll on the family. We were away for like five weeks I think in total.’

Adding that he won’t be taking on any other long-running reality shows at the moment, he said: ‘Nothing anything anytime soon but never say never for the future.’
When asked about balancing career and family life, the Kiss FM presenter candidly explained: ‘There’s no magic formula that we wave to get this right. It can be tricky.
‘Generally with Roch and I, one of us is busier than the other. If I’m off touring with JLS then Rochelle will pull back on her work commitments and vice versa. It doesn’t always work out like that. Of course we have help with family.
‘We try and make sure that one of us is around at all times. Sometimes we’re both around. We just got back off holiday together over October half term, which was lovely spending some quality time together.
‘We are both busy and the kids are busy with school and then after school clubs. I want to have that quality family time. So yeah, we try and do as much as we can and we’re all just figuring it out as we go along. But we are always doing our best.’
Marvin – who is part of boyband JLS alongside JB Gill, Aston Merrygold and Oritse Williams – added that his family ‘is the priority’ now, with his career coming second.
‘JLS was number one for us from when we started to when we first finished in 2013, like everything was secondary to the band. But obviously our lives have changed now with our wives and our children, they’re the priority,’ he said.

Speaking on the line-up, Marvin told MailOnline: ‘One of my friends is in there, Melvin. So I will be fully supporting Melvin. Obviously, we know others in there, but Rochelle and I are very close with Melvin, so he’ll be getting our votes every night.’
On Sunday, ITV viewers will watch stars including Coleen Rooney, Tulisa Contostavlos, Danny Jones and Melvin Odoom head into the jungle.
Speaking on the 2024 line-up, Marvin told MailOnline: ‘It’s amazing. Some mᴀssive personalities in there. I’ll be glued to it this year. When you’ve spent that time in there and you’ve been a part of it, it’s nice to look back.

Offering advice to the new celebs, Marvin continued: ‘I mean, boring, practical advice when it comes to the food, you can’t underestimate how much you appreciate salt, pepper, sugar, seasoning and flavors.
‘But I would advise them to just enjoy it. It goes so quickly. And I look back at it now and I’m jealous that they’re going through it because it was the toughest thing I’ve ever done, but the best thing I’ve ever done.’
It comes after Rochelle revealed she received secret texts from the producers of I’m A Celebrity while her husband Marvin was in the jungle.

Each morning, Rochelle would receive a via text message describing the upcoming episode so she could decide whether the programme would be suitable for their children.
She told The Sun: ‘I did get a text from the producer every day in the morning, as a courtesy, giving a little synopsis of what’s going to be on that night’s show so I could then decide whether the kids would watch it.’
‘She’d also be like, “Everything’s fine,” which was so weird, another woman telling me my husband’s okay!’
The pair enjoyed a memorable reunion towards the end of Marvin’s time on the series, which saw them share a kiss in the outback.
She now uses the whole thing to remind herself just how much she missed him when he was away.
She added: ‘It’s a good way to add a bit of, ”Oh, my God, I actually did really miss you. I do really love you” back into your relationship!’

Marvin has recently become an ambᴀssador for Fairy Non Bio’s #LoadsOfKindness campaign ahead of World Kindness Day on November 13.
The #LoadsOfKindness campaign is a partnership between Fairy Non Bio* and PADDINGTON IN PERU which encourages the nation to celebrate kindness and create a ripple of good deeds by pledging their acts of kindness on social media.
Speaking to MailOnline about the campaign, Marvin explained: ‘We live in such a strange world where social media, for example, not everyone is always kind.
‘I think you have to choose your words very carefully in this world. It’s so easy for people to go out of their way to make negative comments on people that they have no clue what’s going on in their lives.
‘And I think it kind of makes you step back and remind yourself how important it is to be kind. And this was such a great initiative that’s come together and people were there making their own pledges.
‘I made a pledge to check in on an old friend every day that I’ve not spoken to in a while. It’s just little things that definitely make the world a better place, that’s for sure.’
Fairy Non Bio has teamed up with Paddington in Peru to celebrate kindness across the UK. Pledge your own act of kindness on social media using #LoadsOfKindness.
