Katie Holmes went makeup free when she was spotted dashing around New York City this week, amid her run in a Broadway revival of Our Town.

The 45-year-old ex-wife of Tom Cruise looked youthful as ever as she strutted her stuff around the city that never sleeps.

Although she has experimented with a nose ring a number of times in the past, she went without the adornment during her latest outing.

Her current acting job sees her playing a woman in small-town New Hampshire at the dawn of the 20th century, a setting in which a nose ring would look out of place. 

With temperatures dropping as autumn progresses, Katie bundled up in a color-block jacket zipped over a cozy-looking off-white turtleneck.

Letting her dark hair tumble free over her shoulders, the Dawson’s Creek alumna accessorized her ensemble with a gleaming pair of aviators.

Katie, who has an 18-year-old daughter called Suri Cruise by Tom, modeled a voluminously baggy set of jeans and a bulging leather handbag.

Her latest outing comes as she continues her run in the Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder’s acclaimed 1938 play Our Town, in a cast that also features The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons and Zombieland: Double Tap actress Zoey Deutch.

The revival opened at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre last month and was greeted with a lukewarm response from the critical fraternity.

In a one-and-a-half-star review, the New York Post accused the production of ‘drippy sentimentality’ and argued: ‘Scenes are, at once, overacted — like an olde tyme park — and underacted, with nary a believable or grounded moment to speak of.’

However the revival was praised for its ‘beauty,’ its ‘fine cast’ and its ‘swift and unsentimental direction’ by the New York Times. 

Katie’s Broadway comeback comes just after her daughter Suri began college at Carnegie Mellon, after graduating from New York’s famous LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts earlier this year.

The high school, which was said to have inspired the movie Fame, has churned out a formidable array of celebrities over the years.

Having graduated high school, Suri is now attending the prestigious college Carnegie Mellon, where she is said to be ‘leaning towards’ studying fashion.

‘She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent mature young woman,’ an insider recently revealed to DailyMail.com. ‘She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from.’

Suri’s mother on the other hand was said to be ‘overwhelmed’ at the prospect of Suri going off to Pittsburgh for college. ‘Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,’ a source shared.

Katie, who sH๏τ to fame on the teen drama Dawson’s Creek, started dating Tom in 2005 and got engaged to him seven weeks into the relationship.
