Outnumbered reunion FIRST LOOK: Cast appear in new snaps from special Children In Need sketch – and its young stars look unrecognisable eight years after the comedy series ended

Outnumbered fans have been given their first look at the much-anticipated Children In Need reunion special, ahead of its broadcast on Friday.

Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez reunited for the charity special, which is set to air on Friday, eight years after the comedy series finished.

Dressed in Pudsey Bear T-shirts and matching ears, the stars all beamed while posing for pH๏τos ahead of the sketch, which was written and directed by the original writers.

It is unknown what the Brockman family will be up to in the charity special but it won’t be the only time this year the Outnumbered cast reunite as they are returning once again for a 2024 Christmas special.

The family comedy series aired on BBC from 2007 to 2016 and had five series and Christmas specials in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2016.

Hugh and Claire portrayed Peter and Sue Brockman while Tyger played eldest son Jake, Daniel portrayed middle son Ben, while Ramona played the only daughter and youngest child Karen.

After when the programme initially wrapped, Hugh, 62, and Claire, 59, shocked their on-screen children by revealing they had fallen for one another in real life.

And earlier this year Tyger, 28, Daniel, 25, and Ramona, 23, told The Sun of the surreal moment that they found out.

Daniel said: ‘It was great news, to be honest. We’ve known both of them for a long time.

‘You can imagine, we’re on a set with three kids and for a lot of the time, they’re the only two adult actors. We had separate green rooms. They get on so well, the chemistry’s so real. So happy for them.’

Ramona added: ‘My mum said: “Can’t they adopt you and now you can make a real-life Outnumbered family?”‘

Hugh’s marriage had folded first, in 2015, around a year after the end of series five. He and Kate Abbot-Anderson have two grown up children.

Then, in early 2016, Claire and husband Charles Palmer, a TV director who is the son of ʙuттerflies actor Geoffrey, also parted ways. They have two boys.

Hugh confirmed his romance with Claire to the Mail in 2018, saying: ‘I am very, very happy, we are so very happy. It’s nice and yes, it’s so lovely.’

In 2019, Claire broke her silence on her relationship with Hugh, calling their romance a ‘lovely little life surprise’.

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, Claire said of their romance: ‘We are (together). It’s a lovely little life surprise, isn’t it? It’s a lovely thing.’

The Mail on Sunday previously reported that Hugh and Claire live together in the £1.2million London penthouse flat Hugh bought following his split from his second wife, Kate Abbot-Anderson, in 2015.

After Outnumbered ended Hugh landed himself a role in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s smash hit Fleabag and presents The Great British Dig: History in Your Back Garden.

Meanwhile, Claire has continued to book TV gigs and played Sheila in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, which ran in Trafalgar Studios in the West End in 2019.

The Brockman’s last reunited for a 2012 festive special which had over nine million viewers even more than its final series which had just over six million.

While Hugh and Claire were given scripts to memorise, the then-children were given general plot points and left to improvise.

Outnumbered has won the Royal Television Society Award for Scripted Comedy as well as three British Comedy Awards and four BAFTA TV Award nominations.

Children In Need will air at 7:00pm on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday 15th November.
