EastEnders fans were left open-mouthed after spotting the puzzling prices of food at Stacey’s Baps in the background of a scene.
Eagle-eyed viewers noticed the extremely low prices on the blackboard menu in the food truck run by Lacey Turner’s character Stacey Slater, a single mother with a history of financial struggles.
Residents of Albert Square can feast on a bacon or sausage bap for a measly £1.80 or a bacon and egg roll for just £2.20, prompting fans to ask ‘how is she still open?!’.
Stacey’s breakfast sandwiches seem to be the cheapest in East London when compared to prices in real cafes and chains in the city, as one fan pointed out ‘doubt you could get a sausage bap for that price in London in the 90s, let alone 2024’.
Bacon and sausage baps from Costa Coffee are over double the price at an eye-watering £4.89.
Even the famous pocket-friendly cafe Pellicci’s in Bethnal Green, East London, charges more, with a bacon and egg roll priced at £3.40.
Fans were shocked at the low prices on the menu board at Stacey’s food truck, aptly named Stacey’s Baps
Stacey’s Baps opened in 2022 when she purchased the van from someone who almost ran her over with it using a loan from Kat Slater

Stacey’s burgers are also a bargain at only £3.40 which is cheaper than a McDonald’s quarter pounder with cheese priced at £4.89.
A cup of tea or coffee at Stacey’s Baps is only 50p which is small change compared to a £3.25 English breakfast tea or a £3.85 black americano at Costa.
Fans pointed out Stacey’s lack of financial literacy as her low prices show no hope of helping her out of her money woes, joking ‘no wonder the Slaters are тιԍнт for money’.
One questioned: ‘How she is still open with these prices in this economic climate is actually beyond me?’
Another asked: ‘How can the market traders run households with that income?!’

Stacey has been at the centre of a cost of living crisis storyline after a slew of bad luck and poor decision making left her struggling to make ends meet.
After her food truck was robbed, her 12-year-old daughter Lily fell pregnant and her biological father stopped paying child support, leaving Stacey unable to put food on the table.
She had tried to claw it back with desperate and impulsive moves like stealing money from an office at her cleaning job, joining an OnlyFans-type website called Secret Cam and getting into £3000 worth of debt with an evil loan shark.
Reacting to the insanely low prices, one fan questioned: ‘How she is still open with these prices in this economic climate is actually beyond me?’
