Idina Menzel headed to the Wicked premiere with her 15-year-old son Walker over the weekend.

The actress, 53, who originated the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production, proudly posed with her teenager on the red carpet.

Walker, whom Idina shares with ex-husband Taye Diggs, was nearly as tall as his mother. 

The teen was looking smart in a crisp black suit paired with platform star print sneakers. 

Idina glammed it up in a chic, off-the-shoulder black dress that fit her like a glove. She combined the look with an elegant black clutch and head full of glossy waves.

Idina was also joined on the red carpet by her former Wicked co-star Kristin Chenoweth. 

Together, they originated the roles of Elphaba Thropp/Wicked Witch Of The West and Glinda The Good Witch Of The North during their 2003 run on Broadway.

Based on a novel by Gregory Maguire, the 2003 Broadway musical Wicked told the backstory of the Wicked Witch Of The West from The Wizard Of Oz. 

The film stars Cynthia Erivo as the тιтle character and Ariana Grande as her best friend Galinda, who later becomes Glinda The Good Witch Of The North.

The movie is set to arrive in theatres on November 22, 2024 for Wicked: Part One, and November 26, 2025 for Wicked: Part Two. 

Idina, meanwhile, was married to Walker’s father Taye from 2003 to 2013.

The couple fell in love while starring in Broadway’s Rent as Maureen Johnson and Benjamin ‘Benny’ Coffin III back in 1995. They later reprised their roles for the 2005 film adaptation of the musical.

Menzel and Diggs began dating at some point between 1995 and 1998.

The Broadway icons showed their support for the film

They eventually wed in December 2003 during an intimate ceremony in Jamaica.

Six years later, Menzel gave birth to the couple’s first and only child, their son Walker.

They announced their separation in 2013 by sharing a statement with PEOPLE, writing: ‘Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time.

‘Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time.’

Diggs filed the papers in 2014 and the divorce was finalized a year later.

They have a very amicable co-parenting relationship and Menzel has since remarried. She tied the knot with fellow actor/singer Aaron Lohr, 48, in 2017.
