Mysterious coffins have been discovered near an ancient pyramid in Egypt, leading many to believe they are the work of aliens.
24 strange black coffins were discovered 12km underground from the Egyptian pyramid, made of granite and weighing up to 100 tonnes.
Researchers found the black coffins in a tunnel system belonging to the Saqqara Temple, northwest of the Djoser Pyramid in Saqqara, a necropolis near the city of Memphis in Lower Egypt, according to Express.
Each coffin was crafted to be extremely square and airтιԍнт over the course of millennia. The purpose and function of the coffins remains a mystery to this day.

These black coffins are all made of Aswan marble, weighing up to 100 tons. The stone blocks are cut so precisely and delicately that many people believe that they can only be the work of aliens.
According to the hypothesis of Egyptologists, after ascending the throne, Khaemweset, son of pharaoh Ramesses II (1279 – 1213 BC) of the 19th dynasty, ordered the digging of a tunnel running through the mountains in the area with sealed rooms on both sides containing large marble coffins. The burial site was created to preserve the mummified Apis bull, worshiped as the incarnation of the god Ptah in ancient Egyptian culture.
The temple was discovered by researcher Auguste Mariette. In 1850, Mariette found the head of the sphinx protruding from the desert dunes. He cleared the sand and followed the main road leading to the burial site. After using explosives to clear away the dirt and rocks blocking the entrance to the sarcophagus vault, Mariette excavated much of the complex. However, Mariette’s notes on the excavation process have been lost.
Scholars believe that there are still many more sarcophagi containing mummified cows awaiting excavation and discovery, and that Mariette’s work is being continued by posterity.
