Kate Winslet had a surprise reunion with one of her lesser known co-stars from the cast of тιтanic (1997), not named Leonardo DiCaprio.
The longtime leading lady was dishing about her recent film Lee, for which she starred in the тιтle role and served as producer, on The Graham Norton Show when she revealed she had attended a recording session for the score at Abbey Road Studios in London.
‘When we were there, I was looking through the glᴀss into the stage where all the musicians are — [a] huge, 120-piece orchestra — and I’m looking at this violinist and I thought, “I know that face,”‘ she recalled.
While she recognized the musician, Winslet was still at a loss over who this man was to her, which was a similar reaction to some of the other musicians, who began pointing towards him as the day went on, saying, “It’s him.”‘
The actress, who played Rose DeWitt Bukater in тιтanic, tried her best to figure out where she had known the violinist from, and even wondered whether he was an old family member.

The Reading, Berkshire, England native, 49, would eventually wait until the work day had finished and walked down to the orchestra to put a name to this mystery.
‘So I went in and he went, “Kate, it’s me,”‘ he told her as soon as she entered. ‘And you know when the тιтanic is going down and the violinist stands up and he goes, “Come on, lads,” and he starts playing. It was that guy!’ Winslet shared with great enthusiasm.

That guy is actor and musician Jonathan Evans-Jones, who played violinist Wallace Hartley in the epic romantic disaster film.
‘I was like, “It’s you!”‘ she continued, as her fellow show guests: Dwayne Johnson, Lucy Liu, Jennifer Lopez, Jharrel Jerome, Celeste, and host Graham Norton sat riveted by her story.
As the live audience roared with approval of the story, Winslet added, ‘It was amazing!’
As show producers pulled up a pH๏τo from the famous scene of the band playing as the ship was sinking, the actress confirmed Evans-Jones on the screen.
‘Yes, here he is on the right here. It was him. It was just wonderful,’ she said. ‘We had so many moments like that in the film, where people I’ve either worked with before or known for a long time, kind of grown up in the industry with, they’ve just showed up for me and it was incredible,’ she said.

Over the years Winslet has alway looked back fondly at her time shooting the film, which was written, directed and co-produced by famed filmmaker James Cameron.
The blockbuster starred DiCaprio as Rose’s love interest Jack Dawson, along with Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Bernard Hill, Jonathan Hyde, Danny Nucci, David Warner, and Bill Paxton, among many others.
