NFL decides fate of Nick Bosa after he stormed teammate’s live TV interview to endorse Donald Trump

The NFL will reportedly not suspend Nick Bosa after the 49ers star wore a MAGA hat in support of Donald Trump during a postgame TV interview.

After San Francisco’s win over the Cowboys last weekend, Bosa crashed NBC’s postgame interview of his teammates Brock Purdy, George Kittle and Isaac Guerendo to point to his ‘Make America Great Again’ cap.

According to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, Bosa won’t face a ban for the move – though he could be fined.

That decision will reportedly not be made until later next week, after the presidential election on Tuesday.

Jones also noted that the NFL does have a rule that prohibits players from displaying messages ‘which relate to political activities or causes.’

Notably, Bosa changed out of his MAGA cap for his postgame press conference and declined to speak much about his decision to wear it when pressed by a reporter.

‘I’m not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time,’ he said on the podium – with a different cap on his head.

Bosa was also asked if he had been tempted in the past to speak more about his political beliefs.

‘It’s definitely a little easier nowadays, but no, I don’t feel to inclined to do that,’ he said.

‘It’s just a different climate.’

Was it necessary for Nick Bosa to wear the hat in that interview?

Bosa has been an outspoken supporter of Trump in the past, as he previously tweeted messages of support for the former President before he was drafted by the 49ers in 2019.

He’s also been quoted as saying that he’s a ‘big fan’ of Trump, adding, ‘He brings a charisma that no other candidate has [had] in my lifetime,’ according to SF Gate.

Some 49ers fans reacted with fury over the San Francisco team’s decision to draft Bosa five years ago, due to his reputation as a Trump supporter and his history of ‘insensitive’ posts on social media.

Aside from supporting Trump’s presidency, Bosa had a history of tweeting negative statements about black pop culture icons and entertainment properties — posts which his agent scrubbed from his online presence amid his surging 2019 draft prospects.

Among his deleted tweets were statements in which he called activist and former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a ‘clown,’ wrote NBA star Dwyane Wade ‘looks like a parrot fish’ and noted that Black Panther was the ‘worst Marvel movie.’
