Maxx Crosby addresses Detroit Lions trade speculation: ‘It’s crazy, bro’

Ever since the season-ending injury to star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions fans have been wondering if their team could possibly pull off a blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

Crosby has made it clear on multiple occasions that he wants to stay with the Raiders, and owner Mark Davis has also said he has no plans on trading his best player by the Nov. 5 ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, despite the fact that the Raiders are going nowhere.

However, there has been a few things to fuel trade speculation, like Crosby saying he isn’t interested in sitting through a rebuild, which the Raiders are facing. He also shared a post on social media begging him to come back to Michigan to win a ring with the Lions.

As speculation surrounding a potential trade to the Lions runs rampant, Crosby spoke about the situation on his “The Rush Podcast” on Tuesday.

“Honestly, it’s crazy bro. Last year, there was some trade talk,” he said. “That’s when I feel like it kind of started, send me to Detroit, like their fan base was all over me. It was at a lesser degree, though. It was talked about, but it wasn’t like a thing. Like a wish list thing. And now it’s like, they’ve started a whole pandemonium, a revolution.”

Crosby also touched on his comments about a Raiders rebuild and talked about how fans of different teams have been relentless in trying to recruit him.

“Just seeing all the craziness, it’s been (expletive) insane,” Crosby said. “I can’t even open my phone. Every two seconds it’s Lions fans, Lions fans, Lions fans, Falcons fans, Bears fans. It’s me in an edit in a different jersey, and I’m like, ‘What the (expletive) has this turned into?’ And then I make one comment in a press conference last week and that’s when it went even crazier. I wasn’t trying to say anything. I was literally just saying, ‘All I’m trying to do is win. I don’t care where I’m at.’ I don’t give an (expletive) where I’m at. If I’m in a basketball game of pig, I’m trying to win that (expletive).”

“You know where I’m at on Sundays. I’m out there hunting (expletives) and dominating and that’s what I plan on doing, and getting better every single week,” Crosby added. “Yeah, there’s a bunch of noise. I even have family members, close friends, everybody, every DM blowing my (expletive) up. ‘Come to Detroit.’ It’s turned into, like you said, a revolution.”

Much to the chagrin of fans of the Lions and other teams, Crosby reiterated his desire to remain in Las Vegas once again.

“And I’m sitting here, innocently, just doing what I do,” Crosby said. “I feel like I’ve got to address it with my teammates. I’m not trying to leave. I know it’s a business, I don’t have 100 percent control over all that. But I want to be here. I want to be Silver and Black. I’ll say it loud and clear, I want to be a Raider. I’ve said that over and over and over again.”

At this point, it’s clear Crosby doesn’t want to be traded, which means the only way he gets moved is if the Raiders go against his wishes and deal him anyway. Las Vegas has far too much respect for its franchise cornerstone to do that.
