Experts have revealed captivating details about the Aboriginal Australians and Pacific Islanders stating that carry the genetic material of an unknown human species.
It has been suggested by research that people from Papua New Guinea and northeast Australia have traces of DNA belonging to an unidentified human species.
Apparently, the research on this subject is raising more questions than answers.
Geneticists and scientists are still unable to comprehend a number of things about this critical research in human history.
In 2016, researchers at Harvard Medical School published the discoveries of a thorough study conducted by them in regard to the human genome of all areas of the world.
The native people of Australia are descendants of the first people who came to the continent from Africa about 50,000 years ago.
They found something astounding about the Aboriginal Australians.
Aboriginal Australians seem to have genetic markers that suggest they are descendants of a yet unidentified human species.
“We’re missing a population, or we’re misunderstanding something about the relationships,” Ryan Bohlender, a statistical geneticist at the University of Texas, told Tina Hesman Saey at Science News.
The amount of extinct Hominid DNA that still is being carried by modern Humans, has been researched by Bohlender and his co-workers.
Surprisingly, they say that they found a lack of compatibility in previous studies that indicate our mingling with Neanderthals and Denisovans isn’t the whole evolutionary story.
It is believed that somewhat between 100,000 years to 60,000 years ago, our ancestors relocated out of Africa forming contact with other hominid species living in the Eurasian landmᴀss.
Experts are of the opinion that this contact left a mark that is still present.
“Our main goal is to understand how our race got to the point where it is, but in order to do that, we must first study the DNA of the ancient tribes,” explained Mallick Swapan, the leading scientist of the study, and an expert who has been studying the origins of the human genome for most of his career.
He gave an explanation of the new study which gathered the genetic data of 142 different human populations spread around the world which was given less importance in the previous studies.
As per Swapan, the most unbelievable revelation of the recent research is that the genetic code of the Australian aborigines depicts that they carry the DNA markers which suggest the ancient crossbred with an unknown “human” species.
At first, it was suspected that the unusual DNA markers might indicate that Aboriginal ancestors interbred with the elusive ancient species known as Denisovans, this theory turned out to be wrong.
Scientists found that DNA markers were different from Denisovan markers, which led them to the conclusion that they had discovered traces of a whole new form of ancient human species.
It has been presumed that aborigines were disᴀssociated from the rest of the world for thousands of years and therefore scientists suggested that their genetic code would be relatively homogeneous.
Shockingly, this wasn’t the case.
“The genetic signatures of an Australian Aboriginal from eastern Australia and Western Australia are as different as those of a person from Europe and an Asian person,” Swapan said.
The great diversification in the genetic code of the native people of Australia, and the strange genetic marker which indicates the breeding with an unknown human species in the past, suggests that there are still many things to know about the ancient history of humanity.
