36-Year-Old Model Found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ in Suitcase Inside Bogotá Apartment as International Investigation Expands

Authorities in Bogotá, Colombia, are investigating the suspicious death of 36-year-old Natalia Villalba, whose body was discovered inside a suitcase in a rented apartment in the El Virrey sector, a case that has now developed into a possible intentional homicide investigation involving international persons of interest.

According to Colombian police, the discovery was made on June 22, 2026, after cleaning staff entered a seventh-floor apartment and found a gray suitcase inside the bathroom. Inside the suitcase, they discovered the lifeless body of Villalba. Officers reported that the shower in the apartment was still running at the time of discovery, adding to the unusual and concerning nature of the scene.

Investigators quickly secured the area and began a forensic examination of the apartment. Authorities collected personal belongings, including two pᴀssports belonging to the victim—one expired and one valid. The valid pᴀssport reportedly contained recent travel stamps indicating she had traveled to Spain shortly before her death.

Police say this information is now a key part of the investigation, as authorities attempt to reconstruct Villalba’s movements in the days leading up to her death. Detectives are reviewing immigration records, surveillance footage, and travel logs to determine who she may have met and when she arrived in Bogotá.

Police have identified two foreign individuals as persons of interest in the case. Authorities are currently seeking a British citizen who reportedly entered the apartment on June 17 and left the following day. Surveillance footage is said to show him carrying bedding to a laundry area within the building, a detail investigators believe may be significant in reconstructing events.

An American citizen from Texas was also reportedly present during an earlier portion of Villalba’s stay. Authorities have not stated that either individual has been arrested, but both are being sought for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Building security records, visitor logs, and CCTV footage are being reviewed to establish a precise timeline of entries and exits. Investigators are working to determine who accessed the apartment and whether additional individuals may have been involved.
