In a powerful Vatican ceremony filled with centuries-old tradition, 28 new Swiss Guards officially took their oath to protect Pope Leo XIV and serve the Catholic Church.

Dressed in their iconic Renaissance-style uniforms, the recruits pledged loyalty, courage, and sacrifice before family members, Church leaders, and crowds gathered inside the Vatican. The Swiss Guard, founded in 1506, remains one of the world’s oldest and most respected military corps.
