Sicario: Soldado, directed by Stefano Sollima and released in 2018, serves as a sequel to the critically acclaimed film Sicario (2015). While it retains some thematic elements from its predecessor, this installment takes a deeper dive into the complexities of the drug war, the moral ambiguities of its characters, and the ever-present threat of violence on both sides of the border.
Plot Synopsis: Set in a world where drug cartels have become increasingly violent and influential, Sicario: Soldado follows CIA operative Matt Graver (played by Josh Brolin) and the mercurial hitman Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro) as they are drawn into a new mission. This time, they are tasked with escalating the conflict between rival cartels and using any means necessary to disrupt their operations. 
The plot thickens when the U.S. government decides to target the cartels by kidnapping the daughter of a powerful drug lord. The mission is shrouded in moral ambiguity, showcasing the lengths to which the characters will go to achieve their objectives.
