San Andreas 2 (2025) brings back Dwayne Johnson as Ray Gaines, the heroic rescue pilot who once saved his family from the catastrophic earthquake that shook California to its core. In this action-packed sequel, the stakes are even higher as Ray faces a new and even more devastating threat that extends beyond California, putting the entire Pacific Rim at risk.
The story picks up a few years after the first film, with Ray trying to enjoy a quieter life with his family while continuing his work in search and rescue. However, when a series of unprecedented seismic events trigger a chain reaction of mega-earthquakes and volcanic eruptions along the Pacific Ring of Fire, Ray is called back into action. The magnitude of the destruction is far greater than anything the world has ever seen, threatening multiple countries and coastal cities. 
Ray teams up with Dr. Lawrence Hayes (played by Paul Giamatti), the seismologist who first predicted the “Big One” in the original film, and a new team of experts to uncover the cause of the escalating geological chaos. As Ray races against time to save lives and reunite with his family, who are caught in the path of the destruction, he must navigate collapsing cities, mᴀssive tidal waves, and other ᴅᴇᴀᴅly natural disasters.
