Vermines (2023), also known as Infested, is a French horror film directed by Sébastien Vanicek. The story centers on Kaleb, a man approaching his 30th birthday, who is struggling with feelings of loneliness, family conflicts, and the disintegration of his friendships.
An avid collector of exotic animals, he purchases a venomous spider, but things take a terrifying turn when it escapes into his home, triggering a series of horrifying events.
As Kaleb tries to locate the spider, he soon realizes that the infestation is much worse than he anticipated. The creature multiplies at an alarming rate, threatening not only his life but that of everyone in his apartment building.
As the infestation escalates, the tenants are trapped, and tensions rise. Kaleb, along with a group of survivors, must confront their fears and fight against the increasingly dangerous arachnid threat.
