An NFL employee is in hospital after being ‘seriously injured’ in the ᴅᴇᴀᴅly shooting that took place inside the New York City building that houses the league.
Shane Tamura, a 27-year-old licensed private investigator from Las Vegas, opened fire at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan on Monday night, killing four people and leaving one fighting for their life.
After starting his terrifying spree in the lobby, where he sH๏τ an NYPD officer in the back, Tamura headed to the offices of Rudin Management on the 33rd floor and continued spraying his M4 rifle. Four people were killed in the rampage.
As well as Rudin Management and investment management company Blackstone, the building at 345 Park Avenue is also home to the NFL headquarters, which is located on the fifth floor.
In a letter to employees on Monday night, as seen by DailyMail.com, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that a league staffer ‘was seriously injured in this attack.’
‘He is currently in the hospital and in stable condition,’ his letter continued. ‘NFL staff are at the hospital and we are supporting his family.’
Goodell added that the NFL believes all other employees are otherwise safe and accounted for, and the building has nearly been cleared.
