James Harden has provided the media with a brief, two-word response when asked if he and Daryl Morey will ever make amends over their beef last season regarding the Clippers point guard’s exit from the 76ers.

The 34-year-old, prolific scorer didn’t beat around the bush when asked about his fractured relationship with Philadelphia’s GM and president of basketball operations after the Clippers’ 108-107 win over the Sixers at Wells Fargo Arena, where Harden was booed every time he handled the ball.

‘Do you think some day you and Daryl [Morey] will patch things up?’ a reporter asked Harden, who didn’t sugarcoat his response.

‘No. Hell no,’ the 10-time All-Star and one-time MVP (2018) said without hesitating.

‘For me, personally, I feel like I did everything that I needed to do in the sense of the year prior, taking myself off the max (contract) to help the team get better, for this city. You know what I mean?’ Harden added.

‘And for myself, obviously, to win a championship. Things didn’t work out. I wanted to get paid. They weren’t talking. So it is what it is. Then you move on. Everybody’s happy. Life is good.’

Asked if he still has a relationship with 76ers star Joel Embiid, Harden said: ‘No.’

The NBA 75th Anniversary Team member played a season-and-a-half in Philadelphia after a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets for Ben Simmons at the 2022 trade ᴅᴇᴀᴅline.

Harden walked out on the 76ers last offseason due to his unhappiness with Morey over fresh contractual terms regarding a potential max deal, which he felt was due to him after taking a $15million pay cut the summer before his first and only full season in Philly.

He originally declined his $47.4M player option with the 76ers to sign a $33M deal for the 2022-23 campaign.

Harden called out Morey, describing him as a ‘liar,’ while at a press event last August shortly after he and the 76ers ended trade talks.

The beef between the NBA exec’ and player come as a surprise to many considering that Morey was the one behind Harden’s trade to the Houston Rockets, where he turned into one of the game’s most prolific scorers ever from 2012-2021.

In his first season with the Rockets, Harden set or matched several team records and was named to his first All-NBA Team (a third-team selection), as well as his first NBA All-Star team.

Over the next seven full seasons with Houston, Harden led the league in scoring three times and ᴀssists once, and was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2018 while leading the Rockets to the Western Conference Finals. He was also named to seven consecutive NBA All-Star teams and earned All-NBA First Team honors six times.
