NBA legend Paul Pierce was brutally trolled by fans after making a stunning claim about his own playing career during a recent talk show.
Pierce spent 19 seasons in the NBA, predominantly with the Boston Celtics, before retiring in 2017 and joining FS1 sports talk show Speak as a panelist.
During their recent broadcast, the trio of analysts discussed LeBron James’ claims that Kevin Durant is the most ‘equipped’ scorer in NBA history.
Pierce, 47, seemingly took that personally and, during the most recent episode of Speak, took a moment to suggest why he is in fact the ‘best pure scorer’ in history.
Pierce said: ‘I was probably the best pure scorer in the history of the NBA. I was pretty equipped when I think about it. I’m just saying I need to be in the conversation’.
The former Celtics star was then asked a number of questions by ex-NFL star and fellow Speak host Keyshawn Johnson about his scoring abilities.

‘Could you pull up from the elbow?’ Johnson asked. A confident Pierce swiftly replied: ‘I got all that’.
Johnson proceeded to ask whether Pierce could ‘knockdown a three’, ‘back them down’ and ‘dunk’, to which his co-host replied: ‘All of that!’
After the clip was posted on Speak’s account on X, fans were quick to troll Pierce and suggest that his claim was wide of the mark.
‘He’s not even a top 50 scorer of all time,’ one user said, with a string of laughing emojis accompanying his message.
‘Paul Pierce is always saying what no one else is thinking,’ another brutally quipped.
‘I like Paul, but he’s no Jordan. Let’s be serious,’ another user wrote. Michael Jordan sits fifth in the all-time point scoring standings and has the joint highest PPG in league history.
‘For a guy nicknamed The Truth he sure does f***ing lie a lot’, another wrote.
While Pierce was mocked by fans on social media over the claim, there is an argument to say that the former Celtics star should be in the debate, at the least.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James sits atop the list with 42,184 points scored during his dazzling career.
