San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was arrested Thursday evening in Los Angeles and charged with resisting a peace officer, according to TMZ.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that police were called to the scene and approached Lenoir and another man, Marcus Cunningham, before finding double-parked vehicles blocking traffic.
Cops reportedly suspected that criminal activity was in progress when they saw a firearm in Cunningham’s car.
Cunningham allegedly tossed his keys to the young defensive back during the interaction, per TMZ.
He refused when the police asked Lenoir to hand over the keys, resulting in his arrest at around 5:30 p.m. according to records viewed by The Post.
Lenoir, a Los Angeles native, was released from jail Friday morning on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
Cunningham was also arrested for possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
Lenoir, 25 was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon and been a defensive stalwart for the team since.
The 49ers rewarded him for his outstanding play with a five-year, $92 million contract extension last season.
He tallied a career-high 85 tackles across 15 games last season, in addition to two interceptions and nine pᴀsses defended.
For his career, Lenoir has tallied 265 total tackles and six interceptions spanning 62 games.
His scheduled court date in July comes right around when the 49ers will begin preparing for the 2025 season and could possibly affect his availability for the campaign.
The 49ers already lost key defensive pieces Dre Greenlaw, Charvarius Ward and Talano Hufanga this offseason.
San Francisco went 6-11 last season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020, and opens the season on the road against the Seahawks on Sept. 7.
