Isiah Thomas has claimed that the only way he’ll ever bury the hatchet with Michael Jordan is if the six-time NBA champion apologizes to him on ‘international television’ regarding his comments made on the Detroit Pistons legend in ‘The Last Dance.’
In the 2020 Netflix and ESPN Films miniseries, which was centered around Jordan’s personal evolution to form a dynasty with the Bulls in the ’90s, ‘His Airness’ opened up on the rumor that he was behind Thomas’ 1992 Olympic Team snub, denying any involvement in choosing the roster.
Jordan didn’t hold back his feelings on Thomas, however.
‘The reaction of the public has changed his perspective,’ Jordan said, as he reflected on the Bulls’ playoff rivalry with Thomas’ Bad Boy Pistons. ‘You can show me anything you want, there’s no way you can convince me he wasn’t an a**hole.’
On Wednesday, while appearing on ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ Thomas – a two-time NBA champion – was asked by the Golden State Warriors power forward if his friendship with Jordan is salvageable.

‘Dude. No,’ said Thomas at first. ‘This dude got on national television… international television and called me an a**hole… somebody who’s been really good to him…
‘And until he apologizes on international television… we… no conversation…’
Thomas also made himself clear on why he has a personal issue with Jordan: ‘You can’t apologize and have a private dinner [with me] when you done embarrᴀssed me publicly,’ adding that ‘if you didn’t mean it… say it publicly. Now, if you meant it, let it stand. I’m good with that.’
Despite the feud between the two Naismith Hall of Famers, Thomas said he didn’t realize that Jordan had felt that way about him until the docu-series was released.
‘Even until I watched ”The Last Dance,” I didn’t realize that he felt the way about me,’ Thomas said on Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast in 2020.
‘I never had no bad words with him or anything like that. We played. His team won, my team won. We went home, they went home.’
