NBA star John Wall has admitted to twice putting a gun to his head and wanting to commit suicide.

Wall, 33, opened up on his mental health struggles on ‘The OGs’ podcast with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, and shared that the death of his mother in 2019 nearly resulted in him taking his own life.

‘I put a gun to my head twice and a lot of people that are close to me, friends at the time didn’t know,’ Wall said.

He continued, ‘You know I had a video came out, throwing up gang signs and stuff like that, that’s when I was in my darkest moment, trying to figure out to find happiness.

‘Twice I wanted to commit suicide and I was like, man, if I take myself away from this earth I’m failing my kids. Who gone be there to raise them?

Wall explained on the podcast that his mother was his ‘best friend,’ saying that he would call her five or six times daily before her pᴀssing.

The former Wizards guard, who was the No. 1 pick of the 2010 NBA Draft, spoke on the show about the moment he learned of his mother’s death from his sister.

In a H๏τel room in Charlotte at the time, Wall said he was ‘breaking everything’ as he reacted to the news.

Wall also noted his respect for ex-Washington teammate Bradley Beal, who he said came to his room and spoke with him after he informed him his mother had died.

‘He comes down there, we kick it and talk,’ he recalled. ‘It’s emotional as hell.’

In a 2022 interview with the Salvation Army, Wall again spoke about his previous suicidal thoughts and said that his 2019 Achilles tear contributed to his mental health struggles as well.

Wall was sidelined by injuries in the 2019-20 season and later sat out the 2021-22 season while on the Rockets.

He played in 34 games for the Clippers last year but has not latched onto a team this season.
