Shedeur Sanders gets speeding ticket for allegedly driving over 100 mph in 60 mph zone

This wasn’t the fast start Shedeur Sanders was looking for in Cleveland.

Sanders, 23, was given a speeding ticket in suburban Cleveland for allegedly driving more than 100 mph earlier this week, according to records viewed by The Post.

Officers with the Strongsville Police Department stopped the Browns’ rookie quarterback a little after midnight on Tuesday as he was allegedly traveling on 71 North at 101 mph, which was 41 mph over the posted speed limit.

Sanders can pay a $250 fine or contest the ticket in court on July 3, TMZ reported.

The son of NFL legend Deion Sanders was behind the wheel of a 2025 Dodge pickup that had Colorado plates when police stopped him around 12:24 a.m., along with a woman, who was in a separate vehicle, according to the outlet.

Bodycam footage showed the traffic stop, which occurred without any issues, and one officer even commented that Sanders had been “cool” with him.

Sanders apparently didn’t think he had been going as fast as officers clocked him at, according to the footage.

“I’m like, you were 100 percent going that fast, it’s all on camera, man,” one officer could be heard telling another as he sat in the police cruiser.

Officers did tell Sanders that they would cut the woman a break — even though she was traveling at 92 mph, the officer said.

But with the speeds they recorded the football player going, they weren’t able to extend the same benefit to him.

Sanders is one of two quarterbacks the Browns took in the draft in April, which included Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, who was selected in the third round.

Sanders watched as he slipped down on boards before the NFL draft amid murmurs that teams were not impressed with the way he had conducted himself while going through the pre-draft process, though some pundits felt that he was being unfairly judged.

The 23-year-old now finds himself in a crowded QB room, and it’s unclear who will win the Browns’ starting job for 2025.

Video of Sanders was posted online showing him speaking with kids who were at Browns minicamp this week, with several of them asking when he would be playing and if he or Joe Flacco would be starting.

“We got preseason first,” he said.

Browns star Myles Garrett liked what he has seen out of Sanders in minicamp, adding “everyone was surprised” the signal-caller went as late in the draft as he did.

“He’s come to camp and OTAs with a great atтιтude. He’s a hard-working guy, he has a good head on his shoulders,” Garrett said. “He’s always positive, always optimistic, always puts a smile on his face.

“You like going to work with people who have that kind of atтιтude.”
