After previously expressing that he wouldn’t want to be teammates with Aaron Rodgers, one Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back is staying with the team for at least another two seasons.
Safety DeShon Elliott was extended on a two-year, $12.5million deal on Monday, according to multiple reports.
Elliott’s deal includes $9.21million of guaranteed money.
Last season, the six-year veteran tallied a career-high 108 total tackles and matched his career high of 73 solo tackles.
But after the season ended, Elliott also made headlines around the time that Rodgers was rumored to be pursued by multiple NFL teams.
Under an Instagram post back in February which suggested that the Steelers could be interested in Rodgers, Elliott commented: ‘Leave his a** at the retirement home.’

Rodgers shocked the media in Pittsburgh by revealing that he tied the knot this year
Last season, Rodgers finished eighth in the league in pᴀssing yards, but only managed 28 pᴀssing touchdowns and eleven interceptions as the Jets managed a record of 5-12.
That led to the Jets eventually cutting him from their roster, leaving him free to sign anywhere he wanted in free agency.
As the clock continued to tick down, and as teams continued to sign quarterbacks, Rodgers eventually signed with the Steelers earlier this month.
Rodgers’ first appearance at Pittsburgh’s practice wasn’t the only revelation. The 41-year-old also announced that he had been married to a mysterious woman named ‘Brittani’.
However, multiple sources have told DailyMail.com that there is no official record of Rodgers being married.
What’s more, not even his closest relatives seem to know anything about the mysterious woman he now calls his wife, known only as ‘Brittani’, though given his well-documented fractured relationship with his family, that may not be too surprising.
