Jets receiver Allen Lazard reveals engagement as Steelers rumors swirl: ‘Onto the next chapter’

Allen Lazard is “onto the next chapter” — in his personal life, that is.

The Jets receiver, who has been at the center of trade buzz this offseason, revealed his engagement to girlfriend Camila Escribens on Tuesday, with the couple sharing the exciting news in a joint Instagram post.

In pH๏τos of the Hamptons proposal, Lazard got down on one knee in the sand as he popped the question to his future wife, who stood in front of a heart-shaped flower arch with smaller bouquets of white blooms and candles placed nearby.

Escribens, who was named Miss Peru 2023 and competed in the Miss Universe pageant, revealed in the post’s caption that they got engaged on May 18.

“Onto the next chapter…,” she wrote alongside a ring emoji.

Escribens has been open about her romance with Lazard, 29, posting pH๏τos of the pair during Jets home games last season.

“Way more fun over here,” the model captioned a post from MetLife Stadium in October.

It remains to be seen if Lazard will be catching pᴀsses at the Meadowlands this fall amid recent rumors linking him to the Steelers.

Lazard, entering the third year of a four-year, $44 million pact with the Jets, agreed to take an $8.5 million pay cut in April.

Should he be moved to the Steelers, though, the big question is who will be throwing Lazard the ball.

Pittsburgh has been pursuing Lazard’s former teammate, star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, for much of the offseason.

Parties have yet to reach an official agreement as Rodgers, coming off two mundane seasons with the Jets, has been tending to personal matters with a member of his inner circle battling cancer.

“I am trying to be open to everything and not specifically attached to anything when it comes to this decision,” Rodgers said during an April appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “I’m just going through a lot in my personal life that has to take precedent at this point.”

The Steelers have rookie quarterback Will Howard and veteran backup Mason Rudolph on their roster, with Pittsburgh’s 2018 third-round pick stating he isn’t deterred by the Rodgers chatter.

“That’s nothing new to me. There’s been constant noise,” Rudolph said this week at OTAs. “That is the nature of the NFL. So I am used to that for a long time. Now I’m doing nothing but being the best I can be to help our team get better this spring.”

Although some Steelers have made it clear they’ll welcome Rodgers with open arms, a franchise legend hopes the four-time league MVP keeps his zip code on the West Coast.

“That’s a joke. That to me is just a joke,” Terry Bradshaw, a four-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback with the Steelers, said during an appearance on 103.7 The Buzz.

“What are you gonna do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.”

Rodgers appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Jets last year, throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Lazard, who was teammates with Rodgers in Green Bay, had 37 receptions for 530 yards and six touchdowns with the Jets in 2024.
