Aaron Rodgers drops biggest Steelers hint yet in long free agency saga

Aaron Rodgers dropped a hint about his NFL future last weekend.

During a live interview with rapper Mike Stud, the former Jets quarterback fielded a question from a young football fan in the crowd on whether he’d ever play for the Bears.

And his answer was telling.

“No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year for a road trip,” Rodgers said.

Unsurprisingly, Rodgers stopped short of naming the team when asked to be more specific.

“I don’t know, I’m not sure, I’m going to check it out,” Rodgers said with a smile.

Another fan asked the 41-year-old what the entire football world is wondering: If he is “going to the Steelers.”

“You never know,” Rodgers replied.

Pittsburgh, a destination Rodgers has long been rumored to be heading to this offseason, will go to Chicago to play the Bears during Week 12 of the 2025 season.

The Bears also welcome the Vikings next season, who were in the mix for Rodgers earlier this year, but appear ready to hand the starting quarterback job to J.J. McCarthy.

New Orleans, which could be in the market for a veteran quarterback after Derek Carr’s retirement, will also visit Chicago, though they’re far from the contender Rodgers is presumed to be seeking.

The latest comments from Rodgers come a month after he said that people in his inner circle were dealing with “difficult stuff” on “The Pat McAfee Show,” leading to him delaying a decision on his football future.

“I am trying to be open to everything and not specifically attached to anything when it comes to this decision,” Rodgers said. “I’m just going through a lot in my personal life that has to take precedent at this point.

During a conversation on “The Joe Rogan Podcast” this week, Rodgers revealed that someone near him is dealing with cancer.
