Heated NFL meeting descends into chaos as tush push compared to ‘wet dream’

NFL owners and league execs got into a heated exchange during Wednesday’s meeting over the future of the tush push.

The proposal to ban the controversial play failed, meaning it will remain legal in the league despite an effort by the Packers to shove the play out the door.

But the conversation around it led to some testy exchanges during the league meeting in Minnesota, ESPN reported.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made a somewhat crude remark toward the end of an impᴀssioned speech defending the play, which included an analogy to a “wet dream for a teenage boy.”

Lurie — following erroneous reports on Wednesday morning that there were enough votes to ban the play — told his fellow league owners and executives that whether or not the tush push was banned, the situation was a “win-win” to him.

He then used the analogy to describe how happy he was to have his team come up with a play that’s been so successful that other teams have decided the only way to try and stop it was to ban it.

Troy Vincent, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, admonished the Eagles’ owner for saying the “wet dream” comment with women in the meeting.

49ers owner Jed York also chirped Lurie after he had spoken for an hour, asking his Eagles counterpart about “how much more s–t” he needed to say.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reportedly asked several questions, while Bills owner Terry Pegula expressed support for the ban even though his team was one of the tush push’s most prominent users.

The rule change was defeated, falling two votes short of the needed 24.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles, Ravens, Browns, Lions, Jaguars, Dolphins, Patriots, Saints, Jets and тιтans all voted against the measure.

The Eagles’ social media team appeared to troll the Packers after the vote with a post on X that included an image of the Eagles playing Green Bay, with the words “Push On” superimposed high on the pH๏τo.
