The son of longtime NFL agent Jeff Sperbeck has paid tribute to his father following his tragic death last month.
Sperbeck, who was a close friend and business partner of NFL Hall of Famer John Elway, died as a result of blunt head trauma after falling off the back of a golf cart. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has told TMZ that the Coroner’s Bureau ruled Sperbeck’s death an accident, and no foul play is suspected.
The 62-year-old left behind three children – Carly, Sam and Jackson – and his son penned a moving message in his honor on Instagram.
‘Your footsteps gave me direction,’ Jackson captioned a post on Sunday. ‘I’ll walk the rest with purpose. I love you dad.’
The post included several family pH๏τos, including Jackson with his dad when he was a young child, Sperbeck dancing at a wedding and another of him driving a boat.
Jackson’s post came after his mother and Sperbeck’s wife, Cori, said goodbye to her husband.

‘We are grieving this unimaginable loss as a family alongside our dearest friends the Elway’s (sic) and the many other clients Jeff called friends,’ read the April 30 statement. ‘We are grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of support that we have received and ask for privacy for our family at this difficult time.’
Sperbeck hit his head in La Quinta, California on April 26, after a falling off the back of a golf cart being driven by Elway.
Following Sperbeck’s ultimately fatal fall, Elway called 911 himself, according to TMZ, before paramedics arrived.
Both Elway’s wife, Paige, and Sperbeck’s wife, Cori, were present at the time of the accident.
A witness to the aftermath of the tragic accident claimed Cori was inconsolable as they opened up on the horrific scenes.

‘It was so sad and our hearts go out to the families,’ the source told KESQ’s Blake Arthur.
‘We were heading out of the community and we pulled up. It had to have happened probably one minute before us pulling up. We got there and he was unfortunately lying on the ground and there were people surrounding him, just trying to make sure he was okay. People were on the phone trying to get help there as soon as they possibly could.
Elway and Sperbeck worked together during Elway’s Hall of Fame career as Sperbeck managed his business affairs.
They went on to form wine company 7Cellars together in 2013 – 15 years after Elway hung up his cleats and retired from the NFL.
