Travis Kelce to join Hollywood stars at charity event amid return to spotlight after Taylor Swift downtime

Travis Kelce and his Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes are attending a charity event in Kansas City at the end of May with a host of Hollywood celebrities.

The ‘Big Slick’ event confirmed on Wednesday that the Chiefs stars will be there for the event across the weekend of May 29-31 to help raise money for Children’s Mercy, a hospital for children in Kansas City.

Kelce and Mahomes will join event hosts Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, David Koechner and Heidi Gardner for the fundraiser.

‘3x Super Bowl champ & all-around legend (and receiver of that longest pᴀss across T-Mobile Center) is joining 2025! The star тιԍнт end is bringing big energy and big heart to support the kids – welcome back, Travis!’ the Big Slick account said on X on Wednesday, before announcing Mahomes in similar fashion.

The news marks what appears to be a continued return to the spotlight for Kelce after laying low with girlfriend Taylor Swift after the Super Bowl in February.

They had not been seen together for months before resurfacing in Philadelphia on Sunday for Mother’s Day meal with the Kelce family.

Then, Kelce was in New York on Monday night to attend an Amazon Prime event alongside his older brother Jason.

Kelce’s focus on the 2025 NFL season, meanwhile, comes into sharper focus this week as the league announces the schedule for the upcoming campaign.

It does not, however, make for the best reading for the Chiefs star so far.

He is going to be in action on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, against Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos respectively, as well as having to head to Brazil for the first game against Los Angeles Chargers.

And Kelce, judging by his tone on New Heights this week, isn’t impressed at having to start the season in South America.

‘There’s just something about getting close to the equator, I don’t want to put on football uniform,’ he said. ‘I’ve been in Jacksonville in September, that’s f***ing miserable.

‘Sao Paulo, is that by the water? I’d rather it be dry than humid, I’m a sweaty guy. If it is humid, I am going to be miserable. But I am going to find a way to get a win.’

He continued: ‘I am going to be sweating so bad.

‘I am going to have to ask the equipment guys for a couple jerseys, maybe three pairs of pants. Maybe four cleats, I might just go through a pair.’

The Chiefs are also expected to be heading back to New York for Week 3, playing the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
