Rams star Puka Nacua and his girlfriend Hallie Aiono have revealed that they are expecting their first child.

The couple announced the news on Mother’s Day, confirming they will have a baby boy via a pH๏τoshoot and video on Aiono’s Instagram.

‘You were something we always dreamt of, but I have never been so afraid. I wasn’t planning for this now, but I know your timing is divine,’ Aiono wrote. 

‘There are a lot of “why’s” in life currently, but I know that for the rest of my life, you will be my “why”. I can’t wait to love you forever, my sweet boy.’

She and the Rams wide receiver are believed to have been dating since 2021, when he was studying at Brigham Young University.

Aiono grew up in Arizona, the daughter of an American mom and a dad with Samoan and Maori roots. Her brother, Alex, is a popular singer and actor who has starred on  both the big and small screen.

Nacua also has Polynesian heritage, with his grandmother and mother reportedly moving to the United States from Western Samoa. 

After being selected in the fifth round of the 2023 draft, Nacua broke rookie receiving records in his first NFL season.

But earlier this year the Rams star revealed that he does not want to play in the NFL beyond his 30th birthday. The 23-year-old, who is one of six children, also said he hopes to one day have a ‘big family’ of his own. 

‘I know I want to retire at the age of 30,’ Nacua told the ‘Join the Lobby’ podcast. 

‘I’m 23 right now, I’m going into year three – it wouldn’t even be 10 years. It’d be maybe seven or eight… to go out at the top, I think it would be super cool.’ 

On having children, he added: ‘I want to be able to be a part of their lives and be as active as I can with them… the injuries are something you can’t control.’ 

Nacua continued: ‘By the time my kids could be 18, I could be barely walking if you play the game and sustain all the injuries and stuff like that, but I want to retire early.’
