George Pickens went viral on Sunday for allegedly slamming the Steelers – but the new Cowboys receiver has claimed the purported comments are AI.
Pickens, who was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2022, was traded to Dallas earlier this month in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick (Dallas also sent a 2027 fifth-rounder in the deal, with Pittsburgh giving up a sixth-rounder that same year).
And he’s still upset over the trade, at least according to a screensH๏τ of an apparent Instagram comment.
‘They the cheapest organization,’ the screensH๏τ reads. ‘Ain’t no stacking year after year they gone let them n****s go too soon as it’s time Lmaoo.’
However, Pickens soon took to his Instagram story to claim the comments were not real.
‘Literally on a plane. No service,’ he began.

He denied the viral comments from him were real, and accused people of using AI
Pickens has been fined several times for taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct
‘Just landed and seen straight lies from Pitt fans. Stop with the AI trying to make a story. I’m happy for everything that the steel city did for me.’
The social posts spreading the purported comments do not include a link to an Instagram post, and the post which Pickens is accused to have commented on has not been identified.
Pickens was traded after the Steelers acquired DK Metcalf and signed him to a huge five-year, $150million extension.

Perhaps more notably, the younger wide receiver had his fair share of discipline issues while playing for the black and yellow.
In his first three NFL seasons, Pickens was fined for taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct on multiple occasions.
Last season, he was even seen fighting the Browns’ Greg Newsome in the back of the end zone during a Hail Mary in the fourth quarter.
He also reportedly arrived late to the Chiefs’ Christmas Day game last year, showing up just an hour and 25 minutes before kickoff according to The Athletic.
He’ll have a chance for a fresh start in Dallas playing alongside CeeDee Lamb, with Dak Prescott under center.
Metcalf, meanwhile, may find his usual production hard to come by if the Steelers miss out on Aaron Rodgers.
