New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn might have struck gold and unearthed the new Travis Kelce with his second-round pick in the NFL draft.

The Jets took a тιԍнт end from LSU called Mason Taylor and already, he is gaining comparisons with the best to ever do it in his postion in Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce.

The compliment for Taylor came from NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger, who praised the overall selection by the Jets given Taylor’s pedigree at college level.

‘You think about the LSU production at wide receiever, he had to wait for Brian Thomas and Malik Nabers to move on before he had a chance to really shine,’ Baldinger explained.

‘But he caught pᴀsses from Jayden Daniels (in) a lot of big games. You watch him run, there’s just not a lot of guys that are that big at 6-foot-5, 250 that are that smooth.

‘I said a couple weeks ago, he kind of reminds you, the way that he runs – look, the production of Travis Kelce is off the charts, but he looks like Travis Kelce running.’

Kelce, 35, nearly retired after the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl in February before announcing he was coming back for at least one more year.

A three-time Super Bowl winner who has spent his entire career in Kansas City, Kelce is widely considered the best тιԍнт end to have ever played the game.

He holds numerous records from his time in the NFL – most receiving yards in a season for a тιԍнт end (1,416), most consecutive seasons with over 1,000 receiveing yards (seven) and is also the fastest to record 10,000 yards.

Off the field, of course, Kelce’s name sH๏τ to global fame in 2023 when he went public with his relationship with Taylor Swift.

Since the Super Bowl, the power couple haven’t been seen too often and appear to be opting for quiet times out of the spotlight.

As well as Kelce’s own relentless demands from across the course of the NFL season, Swift had been on a relentless run of global tour dates through her hugely successful Eras Tour.

The Jets and the Chiefs will learn their 2025 schedule next week, another milestone in the buildup to the new season.

There will be multiple announces on Monday and Tuesday before the full calendar drops on Wednesday night.

The teams know who they will be playing in 2025, just not the order – unfortunatly for Taylor, he will not face Kelce in the regular season this time around.
