Steelers minority owner has ‘complex’ Aaron Rodgers jokes

A Steelers minority owner is as confused as we are by the Aaron Rodgers situation.

During a CNBC appearance to talk about artificial intelligence, the franchise’s part-owner Thomas Tull joked about the enigmatic quarterback and his current free agency dance with Pittsburgh.

“I’m here to talk about AI, and that’s a more complex issue than artificial intelligence,” Tull said.

The Steelers have heavily pursued Rodgers, 41, all offseason after the former Super Bowl champion signal-caller’s two-season stint with the Jets ended earlier this year.

Rodgers visited the Steelers’ facility and met with team brᴀss in late March, but has yet to make a decision about his playing future.

In April, Rodgers said matters in his personal life are taking “precedent at this point” over his football career.

“I am trying to be open to everything and not specifically attached to anything when it comes to this decision,” Rodgers said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

During the NFL draft late last month, Steelers owner Art Rooney II said in a radio interview that Rodgers “does want to come here” and the team expected a decision soon.

“We’re still kind of getting the same signals that we’ve been getting recently,” Rooney told Steelers Nation Radio.

“He does want to come here, so I do think we may get word soon.”

The Steelers’ quarterback room is currently made up of veteran backup Mason Rudolph and Ohio State’s Will Howard, whom the team took with the 185th overall pick in the draft.

Pittsburgh went 10-7 last season and reached the playoffs with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson behind center.

The franchise dealt embattled wide receiver George Pickens and a 2026 sixth-round draft pick to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a fifth-rounder in 2027 on Wednesday.
