Jalen Brunson has sensationally claimed that his father – a Knicks ᴀssistant coach – called him a ‘f***ing bum’ during the the NBA All-Star game’s three-point shooting contest.

The 27-year-old point guard faced the likes of sharpshooters Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young in this year’s three-point challenge, only to be eliminated in the first round with a score of 24 points. He needed 26 to avoid early elimination.

And while he was throwing up sH๏τs, Brunson told Josh Hart and Matt Hillman on the Roommates Show podcast, that he heard someone heckling not too far away from the court.

‘Some bald guy behind the bench… I heard ”ayo you f’n bum!”’ Brunson said. ‘I said, ”who just said that? My dad.”’

Brunson’s dad, Rick, who was hired as a Knicks ᴀssistant in 2022, didn’t stop the trash talk there as he also trolled his son for shooting bricks.

‘He was like, ”Yeah with that bonus we could have finished my basement,”’ Brunson said.

Hart – a 2016 NCAA Champion with Brunson at Villanova who is now teammates with the one-time All-Star on the Knicks – couldn’t resist laughing as he agreed with his ᴀssistant coach.

‘Valid point,’ Hart joked. ‘That’s a very valid point.’

‘There were time when you wanted to be like me. And now, I wish I could be like you when I was your age,’ Rick said at the weekend.

‘I love you! Congratulations for making your first All-Star game.’
