Aaron Rodgers takes in 2025 Kentucky Derby as his NFL free agency drags on

Aaron Rodgers was one of the many celebrities at Churchill Downs on Saturday to take in the 2025 Kentucky Derby.

Shortly before the big race kicked off, NBC cameras turned to Rodgers in the crowd while going through other celebrities at the event.

Aside from Rodgers, other notable figures from the sports world at the derby included seven-time U.S. Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles and NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony.

The four-time NFL MVP was also in attendance at the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala alongside his former Packers and Jets teammates Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

Rodgers, 41, is navigating the NFL free agency process for the first time in his career and has yet to sign a deal with a team for next season.

The Steelers have been actively pursuing Rodgers and recently conducted “really productive” talks, head coach Mike Tomlin told NFL Network on April 26.

“We feel good about our plan at the position,” Tomlin added.

Rodgers also told “The Pat McAfee Show” last month some of the reasons why he is taking his time during the free agency process, saying that his personal life and commitments have contributed to the delay.

He also said retirement was a possibility.

“I’m in a different phase of my life,” Rodgers said. “I’m 41 years old, I’m in a serious relationship. I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention. I have personal commitments that I’ve made, not knowing what my future was going to look like after last year, that are important to me. … I have a couple of people in my inner circle who are really battling some difficult stuff.

“So I have a lot of things that have taken my attention and have beginning in January away from football. That’s been where I’ve been focusing most of my attention on.”
