Shedeur Sanders' rep gets in angry feud with Cleveland radio host just days after Browns drafted him

It has not taken long for Shedeur Sanders to stir up his first bit of controversy in his new home of Cleveland, as a local radio host has taken issue with a recent visit to a community high school.

Sanders visited John Marshall High School on Wednesday, visiting with students before training at the campus’ football field.

Yet, the meeting was questioned by ESPN Cleveland radio host Aaron Goldhammer, who believed Sanders only made the appearance to get some good PR after slipping to the fifth round of last week’s NFL Draft.

‘I would have preferred that if he was gonna go talk to a bunch of high school kids, he didn’t post it on social media five seconds after the thing was over,’ Goldhammer said on the air. ‘I felt like it was him screaming, “See, look how good a person I am. I went to a school, then I worked out. I’m doing all the right things.”‘

Goldhammer continued that Sanders was not ‘any rookie’ and his team posting content is different than the Browns doing it themselves.

The issue with Goldhammer’s take is that Sanders did not post his high-school visit to social media, someone on his team, Hellion ‘Boog’ Knight, did to his own page.

‘Shedeur did NOT post anything! I posted it. He didn’t ask me, or anyone else to post anything,’ Knight said in response to Goldhammer. ‘Nor did he ask for a hundred cameras to be on him upon his entrance into the school. This isnt his first school visit. He’s done MANY, in various cities & states. This is just spewed hate.’

Knight has posted several of Sanders’ previous visits to schools in response to Goldhammer’s comments, with both of his on-air co-hosts disagreeing with him.

Another host from ESPN Cleveland, Emmett Golden, later posted to social media about Sanders’ visit, stating students thought the new Browns’ quarterback was ‘down to earth.’

‘Someone at the school informed Shedeur’s people that they could have a local tv station cover his trip to JMH. They declined the offer,’ Golden continued.

Sanders joins a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland alongside Dillion Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and Deshaun Watson.

At maximum, only three will make the team’s 53-man roster to start the regular season, with Flacco and Watson near-locks to hold two of those spots with their contracts.
