Jordon Hudson releases fiery Bill Belichick email in latest twist after interview fiasco

Bill Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson have apparently heard the chatter.

In the wake of the couple’s disastrous appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning,” the former college cheerleader, 24, shared a lengthy email from the new UNC football coach, 73, that centered on the promotion of his upcoming tome, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,” as a seeming explanation as to why the Q&A with Tony Dokoupil unfolded the way it did.

In the message dated April 10 — just as the first stories about the book were coming out — Belichick began, “All, I don’t think this is fantastic, but it will probably hype the book, which is clearly the ongoing theme here …

“This is about what I expected from the media. We went through how important it was for me to put ‘I f–ked up’ in the book, and of course, that is the feature of this article — which is mostly about admitting mistakes and talking about a Super Bowl mistake. I am fine with putting mistakes in the book, but I am certainly not surprised that of 260+ pages, that is is what they would highlight.

“And of course, the ‘I f–ked up’ is the click bait they used for the story. We’ll see what the тιтle of the article is, which I noticed has been conveniently left out — do we have approval on that. I would approve this article if we can also approve the headline, which is actually more important than the article.”

Belichick added in the email that he wanted his book “to be presented as a look at my professional life and how I did my job on the way up to, and as the leader of an organization that grew from a $500 m franchise to an $8 billion organization.”

“… This book is about how I did my job, and lessons from my 50 years in and around the NFL — not a bathroom book that highlights my mistakes.”

It’s unclear which specific article Belichick is referencing, though The Boston Globe was the first outlet to discuss the book.

In an eight-minute segment that aired Sunday, Belichick spoke with Dokoupil about his time in New England, where he won six Super Bowls across 24 seasons. He and the organization parted ways in January 2024.

When the conversation pivoted to Hudson, whose relationship with Belichick was revealed last summer, she put the kibosh on questions about the origins of their romance.

“We’re not talking about this,” she interjected.

Belichick, who is reported to have met Hudson on a plane in 2021 and signed a copy of her “Deductive Logic” textbook, said he’s “never been too worried about what everybody else thinks” regarding their headline-making romance.

“Just try to do what I feel like is best for me and what’s right,” he said.

One day after the interview made waves, Belichick kept mum when asked by a reporter Monday during a date night with Hudson in New York.

Hudson, who tagged Dokoupil, CBS Mornings, Simon and Schuster, Avid Reader Press and Belichick in Tuesday’s post, added a full statement is coming later in the day.
