Ex-NFL star Justin Blackmon goes way off topic with cops in police body cam footage from alcohol arrest

Justin Blackmon discussed his football career with a cop during his public intoxication arrest over the weekend, as the former Oklahoma State standout informed an officer that he ‘went to the league.’

Blackmon, now 35, was a two-time All-American while at the school before being drafted No. 5 by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But the former NFL player was in rough condition on Saturday, as he was reportedly found laying on the ground at 1:32am while in wet clothes. Blackmon, who was said to be slurring his words, was eventually arrested by Oklahoma State University Police Department cops and taken to a local jail.

New bodycam footage obtained by TMZ has provided more insight into his arrest, as as the Oklahoma State legend was mostly polite with cops and chatted with one officer about the school’s longtime coach Mike Gundy.

At one point, Blackmon bristled when a cop appeared to ask him what position he played.

‘Why does that matter?’ Blackmon, who lasted just two years in the NFL, repeated on multiple occasions.

The video also shows how a cop gave him repeated chances to tell him the address where he was staying.

Blackmon, though, was unable to provide an address other than naming the town of Stillwater, and he was ultimately placed in handcuffs.

Once Blackmon was on his way to jail, he appeared to fall in and out of sleep as he laid down in the back seat, the video shows.

Blackmon was arrested after he roamed into a campus building, before cops quickly made contact with him.

Blackmon was a college standout for Oklahoma State before he was selected by the Jaguars with the fifth overall pick at the 2012 NFL Draft.

He recorded 111 catches for 1,782 yards and a nation-leading 20 touchdowns in 2010, before following it with 122 catches for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns in a stunning junior year.

Yet after an impressive rookie season in the NFL, which saw him register 64 catches for 865 receiving yards and five touchdowns, the ex-OSU star’s career was brought crashing down by various run-ins with the law.

He was first arrested for driving under the influence in June 2012, before earning a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy 10 months later.

In November 2013, Blackmon was suspended indefinitely for the same offense, which came eight months before he was arrested during a traffic stop for possession of marijuana.

He was also sentenced to a year in prison following another DUI arrest in 2015, which was ultimately suspended pending a year’s probation.
