Revealed: Why CBS threw cringey Jordon Hudson under the bus in excruciating Bill Belichick interview

Bill Belichick’s CBS interview couldn’t have gone much worse for his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, with the broadcaster showing her interrupting the chat as the NFL great was asked about their love life.

The clip inevitably went viral and sparked an outcry from fans and Belichick admirers on how incredibly awkward the scene was and how it embarrᴀssed the pair of them.

Belichick, 73, was asked how he met Hudson. He shuffled awkwardly before Hudson interjected from the producer’s table and said: ‘We’re not talking about this.’

It has now emerged that including the moment in the broadcast on Sunday was a very deliberate ploy from the broadcaster, according to a new report by ProFootball Talk.

Mike Florio says: ‘It wasn’t, we’re told, the only time she interjected.

‘While we don’t know the total number of interruptions, it’s our understanding that CBS decided to include that one specific instance because it wasn’t a one-time thing.’

CBS’s Tony Dokoupil narrated over the chat to describe Hudson as ‘a constant presence during our interview.’

After Hudson sH๏τ down Dokoupil’s question about how they met, he added: ‘It’s a topic neither one of them felt comfortable commenting on though Hudson has recently posted about it on Instagram.’

Hudson returned to Instagram on Sunday afternoon, ignoring the backlash that she would have unquestionably seen about the interview by posting pictures from time spent with her friends.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, an avid New England Patriots fan – an in turn, a Belichick admirer – was quick to say how bad the scenes looked for the coach and Hudson.

‘My Sunday morning routine is always coffee and CBS Sunday Morning. It’s a feel good show. The opposite of controversial,’ Portnoy posted on X alongside a clip of the interview, which was released on Sunday morning.

‘So image my surprise this morning when they had the most awkward Bill Belichick interview I’ve ever seen. Like I was squirming in my seat.’

Piers Morgan echoed the sentiment, insisting that the University of North Carolina head coach needed help.

‘It was utterly excruciating. Mr Belichick needs a family or friend intervention asap,’ the British media personality wrote, quote-tweeting Portnoy’s post.

One positive to come out of it, potentially, for Belichick is the fact that the interview was to promote his new book ‘The Art of Winning’.

If the saying ‘no press is bad press’ is to be believed, Hudson’s embarrᴀssing intervention might at least help a few more people think about buying it.

In the meantime, Belichick is back in the football business and planning for his first season in the college game with North Carolina.
