The Patriots deleted a stunning social media post after celebrating their selection of ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ in the NFL Draft.
New England used the very last pick of the Draft on Saturday to select Kobee Minor, a cornerback out of Memphis.
And the No. 257 overall selection was followed by a reference to a highly-controversial Kendrick Lamar lyric.
The Patriots’ X account posted a graphic of Minor along with the phrase ‘A Minorrrrrrrrrrrr,’ which Lamar raps in his song ‘Not Like Us’ to accuse Drake of being a pedophile.
Drake has sued Universal Music Group for defamation over the track, and the lyric was included in Lamar’s polarizing Super Bowl performance.

He recently added Lamar’s Super Bowl performance in New Orleans to his existing lawsuit, claiming that the show was defamatory as well.
As part of his performance at the Superdome, Lamar sang the controversial ‘Tryna strike a chord, and it’s probably a minor’ lyric in front of the thousands of fans in attendance and millions more watching at home.
However, he did not sing the lyric that refers to Drake as a ‘certified pedophile’ as a lawsuit loomed over the song and performance.

The two MCs feuded with one another through several diss tracks last year, though UMG has said in a motion to dismiss the lawsuit that Drake helped fuel the beef with his own inflammatory diss tracks aimed at Lamar.
‘Plaintiff, one of the most successful recording artists of all time, lost a rap battle that he provoked and in which he willingly participated,’ the motion says.
‘Instead of accepting the loss like the unbothered rap artist he often claims to be, he has sued his own record label in a misguided attempt to salve his wounds.’
Meanwhile, Minor will hope to make the Patriots roster after a five-year college career which included stops at Texas Tech, Indiana and Memphis.
There is some track record of success for past ‘Mr. Irrelevants’, as Brock Purdy has become the 49ers’ starting quarterback after earning the honor in the 2022 Draft.
